The dog in the stroller is Mensch (of blue tongue fame).

Mensch only has three legs, so when he gets tired he rides in the stroller until he gets his strength back. At least that's the excuse he gives. I think he just likes being pushed around.

His friends wouldn't give me their names. I'm not sure why.

When asked if he would mind having his picture taken, this is how he responded. Actually, I have a younger sister who used to respond the same way.

And no, he hasn't been eating grape popsicles. His tongue always looks blue and he is quite proud of it.

This is Dante, a 6-month old Miniature Schnauzer. Smoking is not good for anyone, but certainly 6 months old is too young to start. Especially when you have a mustache that could be a fire hazard.

Brett, Dante's friend, says it is OK because Dante doesn't know how to use a lighter.

As I was taking this picture, a cat just off to our right started making smart remarks about this dog's pink outfit. I think I also heard some comment about his "darling pink shoes".

Now everyone knows that dogs are much smarter than cats. How else can you explain a cat giving a dog this big trouble about his outfit? But then again, you don't see cats walking around dressed like this.

Yes, there is a dog inside the gator costume. I think her name is Fifi. The other dogs kept picking on her so her owner made this costume to scare them away. And it's working! Look at the expression on the poddle's face. He's thinking, "Man, that is one ugly dog, but I'm not going to tell him!"

Not Just For Dogs

This is a former prize winning Persian cat named Salvadore. After he retired from the show circuit and just before he was adopted by Darlene, he was shaved from head to toe by his previous owners. Salvadore has been missing for a couple of years, but not from the hearts of his owners Darlene and Dean. I'm sure they would tell you that shaved and ugly or clothed in beautiful fur they loved him either way.

No, this is not an ugly pet. This magnificent animal is not a pet and wouldn't make a good pet, but it can be seen at the St. Louis Zoo. The St. Louis Zoo is fantastic and it is free! Parking is $8, but if you get there early you can often find free parking on the streets near the zoo. Bring the family, you won't be disappointed.

Actually, I think this dog's name is George Bushie. He didn't get this name to make fun of the President. George (the dog) is actually a Republican although he is not in favor of drilling for oil in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
